Memory Disorders Research Center

The mission of the Memory Disorders Clinic also includes conducting research in improving the diagnosis and eventual cure of these disorders. The generous contributions and memorials, both large and small, from individuals and families to our Alzheimer's Disease Research Fund in Neurology have gone a long way in supporting our important research projects. In addition, our brain banking project (from autopsies) has allowed us to examine brains to advance our understanding of dementing conditions. Thus far, the research has provided substantial benefits to local Ohio patients and families that participate in these studies and has contributed important knowledge regarding Alzheimer's disease and other dementing conditions to the research community and the world.
As a leading research institution, The Ohio State University Medical Center is actively involved in a variety of clinical research trials. Eligible patients with Alzheimer's disease who participate in these trials may benefit from promising investigational medication treatments. Research is also ongoing into the early diagnosis of dementia.
