Sandra Kostyk, MD, PhD

Background: Dr. Kostyk received her BA in Biology from the University of Chicago. In 1985, she received both MD and PhD degrees from the University of Chicago. Her PhD studies focused on understanding sensory-motor integration in the central nervous system. She completed her neurology residency training at the Massachusetts General Hospital through Harvard Medical School. After her residency she was granted a five year physician scientist fellowship award to study neurotrophic growth factors in the nervous system at Harvard Medical School. Prior to moving to Ohio, she was on staff at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital and the West Roxbury VA Medical Center.
Board Certification: The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and subspecialty certification in Spinal Cord Injury Medicine through the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Clinical Interests: Movement Disorders including Huntington's Disease and Parkinson's Disease. Spinal Cord injury
