Yasushi Kisanuki, MD

Background: Dr. Kisanuki received his MD from Faculty of Medicine, The University of Tokyo in 1994. Dr. Kisanuki began his initial research training in the laboratory of Dr. Masashi Yanagisawa at the Department of Molecular Genetics, The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas between 1994 and 2001. Dr. Kisanuki completed residency programs in Preliminary Medicine at St. Joseph Mercy Health System in Ann Arbor, Michigan, then in Neurology at the University of Michigan Health System in 2002 and 2005. He further received his training as a neurogenetic research fellow/Clinical Lecturer in the laboratory and Neurogenetic Disorders Clinic of Dr. John Fink at the Department of Neurology, The University of Michigan between 2005 and 2008. Dr. Kisanuki joined the faculty at The Ohio State University Medical Center in 2009.
Board Certification: American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology, 2006
Clinical Interests: Neurogenetic disorders, inherited, developmental, and/or degenerative neurologic disorders including hereditary spastic paraplegias, hereditary ataxias, mitochondrial disorders, leukoencephalopathies, primary lateral sclerosis, neurofibromatosis.
