Background: Lucretia Long is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology and Epilepsy Nurse Practitioner in the Department of Neurology at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Masters of Sceince and Nurse Practitioner Certification from The Ohio State University, and has been on faculty since June of 1989.
Mrs. Long has been active in clinical research for over 19 years. Her key emphasis includes women’s issues and epilepsy, and epilepsy patient education. She has developed research and clinical tools for assessing and managing woman with epilepsy. She is an invited speaker for both local and national epilepsy meetings, and serves as a consultant for a variety of pharmaceutical companies. She has served as a peer reviewer for Epilepsy and Behavior, Woman’s Health, and Epilepsia. She is the primary and co-author on multiple manuscripts and has assisted with developing teaching aides for the National Academy of Neuroscience Nurses.
