Background: Dr. Behrouz received his undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida and his medical degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He then completed his Neurology residency at the University of South Florida College of Medicine, followed by a Vascular Neurology fellowship at the University of Florida Health Science Center - Jacksonville.
Dr. Behrouz joins The Ohio State University from Los Angeles, California where he was briefly in private practice. Prior to that, for three years, he was an Assistant Professor of Neurology and Internal Medicine (Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine) at the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa, Florida. He also served as the medical director of the Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit at Tampa General Hospital.

Clinical Interests: Cerebrovascular diseases, acute stroke management, stroke critical care, pediatric cerebrovascular diseases, neuro-trauma and cerebral edema.
Research Interests:
Dr. Behrouz’s main research interest involves novel strategies for management of intracerebral hemorrhage and minimally invasive reperfusion therapies for acute ischemic stroke. Other areas of interest include using therapeutic hypothermia and optimizing physiologic parameters in acute brain injury.
