Endovascular Stroke Intervention
ln

The OSU Stroke Center is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and expertise for acute endovascular stroke intervention. Our experts from the Department of Neurological Surgery are uniquely trained in neuro-vascular and neuro-endovascular surgical techniques. Services offered via this pathway of stroke management are intra-arterial thrombolysis via in situ injection of rtPA and mechanical embolectomy using the Penrumbra® and Merci® clot retrieval devices. Other techniques utilized by these experts are emergent or elective cerebrovascular angioplasty/stenting and coil emobolization of cerebral aneurysms for management of subarachnoid hemorrhage.
